What to Expect During Eyelid Rejuvenation Surgery

During an eyelid surgery, the patient is placed under local anesthetic in our state-of-the-art surgical suite. Dr. Iskander will then make a tiny incision along the crease of the eyelid. At this time, Dr. Iskander will remove herniated fat and excess skin from the eyelid. The remaining skin is then tightened and sutured with fine hair-like sutures. The entire surgery takes less than two hours to complete. After surgery, patients should take 24 to 48 hours to rest before returning to normal activities. Rigorous physical activities should wait until a week after surgery so the eyes can heal completely.
