Geneva Means, OD is a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist receiving her Doctorate in Optometry from The University of Houston College of Optometry. During her clinical rotations, she learned proficiency in treating ocular disorders such as dry eye, uveitis, macular degeneration, glaucoma, hypertensive retinopathy, and diabetic retinopathy. She has received specialty training in managing pediatrics, cataract co-management, and low vision. Dr. Means received the honor of being selected as a teaching assistant for the low vision course and received the Eschenbach Low Vision Award in 2021.
As the newest vision provider at San Antonio Eye Specialists, Dr. Means is eager to provide excellent primary eye care specific to her patients’ lifestyles and visual needs. Her experience caring for binocular vision patients provides her with skills to diagnose and treat amblyopia, accommodative dysfunction, strabismus, and myopia. She is also passionate about assisting patients with visual impairments find the right tools and services necessary to improve their quality of life.
Dr. Means is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She spends her free time hiking with her husband and trying out new recipes.
